One on the top is made in photoshop.

I used abstract distorted picture and grid in same time.

Great screen print work found in print room
Retrospective screening poster idea. I’ve tried quite many way to express “human connection” with typography but I was not sure all my ideas. I took this style because I thought it was good idea to make viewer to find out connection between each words. Some word used same letter so I put those like crossword puzzle. And many space in the paper translate atmosphere of coppolas film. I showed jo this work and she told me I need to make some rules to put letters. But I don’t have an idea for that. To be honest I am not sure this idea as well because it is just random letters put on paper, I can’t see no grid control or any beauty from it. I have to think of it before deadline
I went to manchester art gallery the other day and saw Emily Allchurchs exhibition. She uses photo to recreate well known old painting or printing in contemporary perspective. Personally I wasn’t interested in what she’s done I was more interested in original Ukiyo-e(Japanese wood print print works) by print maker Utagawa Hiroshige because I am keen on printing recently. I’m japanese but I’ve never seen original print so it was just great experience. All colour combination was unique, maybe because he used different ink back in the day. Also registration of the paper was not perfect so I got hand made feeling from that. I need to look more other japanese print maker in future, they’ve made very interesting works.
Research for manchester posters.
For Manchester poster design i will use similar technique to my grid experimentation that I did for PC3 and also want to use photo experiment as well. I want to bring abstract image( or distorted images ) into grid. I think it will be interesting.
One on the top is designed by design studio called cyan in Berlin.
The use of photo is very effective. Also LP cover design for band called Discharge. Again it is good photo use.

I used photo experimentation in the big typography. the original photo was taken in street in Ancoats. I was trying to translate their simple, minimal and hard music into visual.
